My name is Platt Winetrout. I am the founder of Easy Shredding Inc. I would like to first say that I am nothing like my competitors, Iron Mountain, Lemay Shredding, or Shredit. These are huge companies that sometimes don’t have much time or patience for the smaller customer. That is where we come in. We are a small company with a small territory that values every customer not just because they are our customers but also because they are our neighbors. That being said, we can handle the big jobs! Do you have 30 tons or more of paperwork to shred? That’s no problem. The reason we are able to compete with the big shredding corporations on a local level is because I have over 20 years in the paper-recycling industry at a local papermill in Tacoma, WA. I have been able to team up with this local papermill and use their equipment to destroy document. I use a pulper. A pulper is much more robust and less finicky than mobile shredders. It can handle all documents regardless of how they are packaged.
While destroying government documents, I thought there might be an opportunity to provide this service to local businesses. Late in 2007, I approached Mill Management with my idea. They were more than supportive, and in 2008, F.C. Document Destruction LLC was born. In 2018, the business became incorporated, and I changed the name to Easy Shredding Inc. It just seemed natural given the positive feedback from our customers. We continue to grow, find new markets, and keep our customers happy. Our A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and being a Pierce County-endorsed shredding company reflects our great service.
